Canadian Red Cross
Meals on Wheels can be ordered through the local Red Cross Office at Assisted Living Programs through the Community Care Access Centre.
Wawa and Area Victim Services
Providing assistance to seniors and persons with disabilities for shopping, prescription pick-ups.
Provides assistance to victims of crime. Referrals to other community programs, including Wawa Food Bank.

Wawa Food Bank
With the help of volunteers and donations, the Wawa Food Bank offers food supplies and other basic necessities to community members.

Algoma District Services Administration Board (DSAB)
Delivers and/or provides oversight of vital social and paramedic services to Wawa to enhance the quality of life, health and well-being of families. It supports people through the delivery of quality social and paramedic services including: Child Care, Housing, Ontario Works and Paramedic (Emergency Medical) Services.

Below are some financial assistance programs delivered by the Algoma DSAB to persons in Wawa. Individuals may apply for these programs as well as Ontario Works, Housing Services and Children’s Services through the local DSAB office. However, due to the COVID-19, all applications and inquiries are being delivered via phone.
Algoma Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP)
Financial assistance to help prevent homelessness through various means of support. Do not need to be on assistance to qualify. Special circumstances as a result of COVID19 will be considered. Application is available at all ADSAB offices and Online. Complete and submit to the office to apply.

Apply for Housing and Rent Subsidies within the Algoma District. Application is available at all ADSAB offices and online. Complete and submit to the office to apply.

Help with payment of Algoma Power Utility Arrears. This program is also available for Hydro One Customers. Must apply through the ADSAB Office

Provides services to children in need.
Algoma Public Health
Lead agency during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Provide information on COVID-19, including detection and management.
