Superior Chilren’s Centre Best Start Hub

Each morning the Hub allows parents and children the opportunity to meet other parents and caregivers and their children to socialize as well as participate in learning activities to encourage developmental skills to help with school readiness.

  • Informal workshops are offered weekly
  • Clothing cupboard is available during our regular hours.
  • Post-Natal Drop-In is held Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
  • Pre-Natal Drop-In is held Tuesdays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
  • “Just for Laughs” is usually held the last Friday of each month from 6:30pm to 9:00pm
  • Free formal workshops are offered monthly and require registration.
  • September to June from 11:00am to 1:00pm, “Lunch and Learn” workshops are available every Thursday with special guests from our community and range on a variety of topics. Lunch is provided and childcare is available upon request.
Open Family Skate

An opportunity for parents and caregivers to get out on the ice with little ones.

Toddlers: Free
Children (5-17)/Senior (55+): $2.50 or $56.50 per season
Adult (18-54): $5.00 or $84.75 per season

Defined Movement Dance

Mommy/Daddy and Me – age 2-3 – bond with your child while learning song and dance.
Creative Dance – Pre School Children – beginner ballet program that uses creative movement, props and imagery to instill a love of dance and music.
Tiny Tumblers – for kids with an inner monkey! Learn to front roll, bunny hop, and stand on your head with this introductory acrobatics program.

Dance classes begin the week of September 15th-21st. Register on-line at, Classes/. Registration for returning students will also take place on September 6th at the Community Centre from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. There will also be a dancewear sale at the same time!

Learn To Skate

The Wawa Figure Skating Club offer this program to first time skaters, teaching the basics such as how to push off, glide, stop and skate in a bubble pattern. All participants must wear a helmet.
