Wawa Legion Raises Over $150,000 in Funding – Needs $100,000 More to Raise the Lift

The Royal Canadian Legion – Wawa Branch 429 has raised over $150,000 in federal grands and public donations for the “Lift for the Legion – Accessibility Fundraising Campaign”. Now that the lower level renovations have been completed and a new barrier-free washroom and ramp installed in the lower level of the Hall, the final phase of the project to install the elevator lift is ready to go. However, even with a recent grant from the Federal Government and donations of many generous contributors, the Legion is still short $100,000 to finish the accessibility renovations to make the Wawa Legion Hall Accessible for all!

The Legion is appealing to you for help and a tax-free financial contribution to our “Lift for the Legion” fund raising campaign. The Legion must raise $100,000 by March 31, 2019, to proceed with the project or return the federal government grant of $100,000.

The Legion and community of Wawa respectfully asks for your financial support to this very worthwhile project, and with every cash donation over $50, the Municipality of Wawa will issue a tax receipt that can be used to reduce your income tax. Any donation over $100 will be publicly acknowledged on a plaque to hang int the Legion Hall. Donations can be made by e-transfer to ar@wawa.cc, mailed or delivered in person to the Municipality of Wawa, 40 Broadway Avenue, P.O. Box 500, Wawa, ON P0S 1K0.

Yours in Comradeship,
