COVID-19 Vaccine Booking at GFL Memorial Gardens and Pharmacies Expanding to Ontarians 18+

As the pace of Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine increases over the coming weeks and to keep in line with provincial eligibility, individuals 18 and over will be eligible to book into any new appointments that become available at the GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste Marie.  These include any new appointments that are made available in June, as well as spots that may open up due to cancellation.

For clinics at GFL, check the website often as appointments become available.  New appointments will be added with additional vaccine supply.

In the Algoma district, search for a clinic near you and follow the instructions for available clinics by municipality.

PHARMACIES ACCEPTING ADULTS 18 and over

As announced by the province, as of 8:00 am today, anyone 18 and older may now book an appointment at a participating pharmacy across the district who are administering the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.  Learn more about the participating pharmacies in our region and how to book an appointment. 

If you receive your immunization and still have a booked spot at another pharmacy or clinic, please remember to cancel your appointment, so that others may fill this spot.

STUDENTS AGED 12-17 AND FAMILIES

Ontario is prioritizing the immunization of youth aged 12-17 and their families in the month of June.  APH and the AOHT, in collaboration with school partners, are working to make clinics available in June for all youth 12-17 and their parents or caregivers who wish to book and attend immunization clinics together as a family.  More information will be coming soon on how to register for these family-based clinics for youth 12-17. 

2nd DOSE APPOINTMENTS

In the coming weeks, eligible individuals will be contacted by email or phone with regards to their second dose. Additional details on 2nd dose appointments will be forthcoming.

Until the majority of community members are fully immunized, we still need to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 in our region:

  • Under the Stay At Home Order, all indoor and outdoor gatherings and organized public events are prohibited, except for with members of the same household or one other person from outside that household who lives alone or is a caregiver for any member of the household.  This means that it is not permitted to visit or to receive visitors outside of one’s household, and everyone must stay home, except for essential reasons.
  • Anyone who is ill, even with mild symptoms, must stay home and self-isolate away from others.
  • Avoid all non-essential travel
  • Wear a mask as required in indoor public spaces and outside when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
