Please be advised that the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa has authorized the discharge of firearms to specific individuals for the control of coyotes and wolves which have been observed within the townsite of the Municipality of Wawa, creating a dangerous situation for residents and pets in Wawa.
The subject area would include the lands known as the Michipicoten Golf Course and the Tamarack Street snow dump (see map below).
Predator control activities may occur in the specified locations from December 14, 2023 to December 31, 2023, January 1 – March 31, 2024 and November 16 – December 31, 2024 and would be limited to 1/2 hour before sunrise (as set by provincial hunting legislation) until 09:30 AM.
